Dina Prokic is an associate at Woods LLP in Montreal. Multilingual and trained in both common law and civil law, Dina Prokic is a member of the Quebec and New York State bars. Having previously worked at the UN Commission on International Trade Law, as well as international law firms in London and Vienna, Dina acts primarily in the fields of international arbitration and litigation. She has been involved in international and domestic ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, including under the ICC, ICDR, ICSID, LCIA and UNCITRAL Rules. Apart from her work as counsel, Dina also serves as secretary to arbitral tribunals in international and domestic commercial and investor-State disputes. Dina is active in the arbitration community through her roles as the Senior Assistant Editor of the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, coach of the McGill Faculty of Law team for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and mentor within the “Girl Empowerment and Mentorship (GEM) Program”, the first diversity initiative launched in the Western Balkans by Association ARBITRI with the support of ArbitralWomen.

Ekin Cinar is a dual-qualified arbitration and litigation lawyer in Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. Her practice focuses on international and domestic arbitration and litigation, with a particular emphasis on the construction, energy, mining and shipping industries. She is also experienced in investment law and investor-state disputes.

 

Ekin has extensive experience in enforcement of arbitral awards, cross-border proceedings, and set-aside applications. She has acted under institutional rules including ICC, AAA, LCIA and ICSID, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. As Vice President of Events and a Board Member of the Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners, and member of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee, Ekin is actively involved in promoting interest in and understanding of international arbitration in Canada.

Sarah Firestone is an associate in the Disputes group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. She has experience navigating complex commercial and civil litigation matters, domestic and international commercial arbitrations, investor-state arbitrations, government investigations and white-collar matters, enforcement proceedings, compliance and governance reviews, securities disputes, trade disputes, tax disputes, internal investigations, and drafting dispute resolution, trade, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering provisions in various commercial agreements. Sarah was previously seconded to the Enforcement Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission, worked in the International Arbitration practice group of a major global firm in Paris, and completed a summer clerkship at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. In addition to her involvement with YCAP, Sarah previously coached the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team at Osgoode Hall Law School for several years.

Marianne Bastille-Parent is an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group of Stikeman Elliott in Montréal.

 

She is a member of the Quebec Bar, as well as of various arbitration-related institutions (YCAP, ICC Canada Arbitration Committee and LCIA). Marianne’s practice is a combination of litigation and domestic and international arbitration (including proceedings ancillary to arbitration such as proceedings for the recognition and enforcement of arbitration clauses or arbitral awards). She represents clients from a wide range of industries, mostly in the construction, infrastructure, energy, pharmaceutical and aviation sectors.

 

Prior to beginning her litigation and arbitration practice, Marianne obtained a LL.M. at the University of Cambridge in England, which she attended as the recipient of The Right Honourable Paul Martin Sr. Scholarship (awarded by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust) and where she wrote a thesis on investor-State disputes. During the summer of 2017, she also attended the Arbitration Academy in Paris.

 

During her undergraduate law studies at the University of Ottawa, Marianne participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and worked as a research assistant in foreign direct investment law and investor-State disputes.

Artem Barsukov is a partner at Bennett Jones LLP in Edmonton, Alberta, where he carries on a globally focused arbitration practice. With more than a decade of experience in domestic and international arbitration, Artem has represented clients all the world in complex international and domestic arbitrations collectively worth nearly US $3 Billion, under leading international arbitration systems, including ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and VanIAC. Artem is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), holds a Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Foreign Arbitrator Diploma, and regularly publishes on topics related to international arbitration. Paige is a senior associate at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Vancouver. Her practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, including international and domestic arbitrations, arbitration-related litigation and contractual and shareholder litigation. Paige has appeared as counsel in ad hoc and administered arbitrations under various institutional sets of rules, including the UNCITRAL, SCC, HKIAC, ICDR and VanIAC Rules, and has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia.
